About the company:

Hage Logistics Technologies is a Canadian supply chain and logistics company headquartered in Toronto, building infrastructure to enable seamless, tech-enabled logistics across Africa and the Global South. We are creating a digital platform that aggregates logistics service providers (LSPs) and connects businesses in Africa and the diaspora to efficient, transparent, and affordable inland and cross-border delivery solutions.

Our core product includes an enterprise-facing SaaS platform that streamlines delivery operations, consolidates cargo, and unlocks real-time tracking and pricing transparency for SMEs and large-scale partners alike.

With extensive traction in Nigeria and Canada, including LOIs from over 10 logistics partners and several enterprise users, our MVP is complete, and we are preparing for our first pilot. Our long-term vision is to unify and optimize African logistics systems, ultimately connecting the continent to global trade flows sustainably and equitably.

Describe the project.:

Hage is developing a cross-border logistics infrastructure and SaaS platform that connects logistics service providers, shippers, and enterprise clients across Africa and the Global South. This innovation addresses fragmented supply chains, lack of digital infrastructure, and the high cost of transporting goods both within and outside Africa.

This project focuses on enhancing the scalability and intelligence of our platform. We aim to research and improve:
● Dynamic route optimization based on real-time data

● A smart matching system for LSPs and cargo

● A pricing engine that reflects market shifts, distances, and cargo types

● Performance-based ranking systems for LSPs

● Scalable backend and UX improvements for LSPs, enterprise users and SMEs

The intern will help prototype and validate these improvements. Tasks include:
● Conducting market research and user discovery with LSPs and clients, in Africa and Canada

● Collaborating on the design and integration of predictive algorithms for route and partner selection

● Assisting in database architecture and API development

● Creating pilot-ready modules with feedback loops for performance measurement

This research-driven development will position Hage as a transformative player in the African logistics sector, supporting Canada’s Africa engagement strategy by bridging trade and digital infrastructure gaps.
