About the company:

At Banting AI, we’re dedicated to making clinical trials faster, simpler, and more accessible. We use advanced artificial intelligence to streamline clinical research, helping sponsors and sites accelerate timelines, reduce costs, and deliver innovative treatments to patients more effectively. Founded in Canada, Banting AI is committed to improving healthcare outcomes at home and abroad.

Describe the project.:

Clinical trial recruitment remains a critical bottleneck characterized by slow patient enrollment, limited demographic diversity, and excessive manual workload for clinical research staff. This project evaluates advanced AI-driven patient screening methodologies using electronic health record (EHR) datasets (structured and/ or unstructured) to identify eligible participants more efficiently and inclusively than traditional manual methods. Key objectives include quantifiable improvements in recruitment timelines, participant diversity metrics, reduction of manual screening burden, and accelerated enrollment processes. Outcomes will directly inform scalable strategies for practical AI integration into clinical research workflows, addressing a top operational challenge identified by sponsors and research sites.

Required expertise/skills:

• Strong analytical skills, including statistical analysis and predictive modeling
• Machine learning skills with practical experience (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch)
• Familiarity with healthcare datasets, especially clinical informatics and electronic health records (EHR)
• Understanding of clinical trial workflows and healthcare operations
• Knowledge of Canadian healthcare regulations, data governance, and privacy standards (e.g., PIPEDA)
