Fiscal Eye is a leading innovator in the application of artificial intelligence (AI) into the field of accounting. At Fiscal Eye, we believe that every business, regardless of size, deserves expert CFO guidance focused on strategic growth and financial health. That's why we created the Autonomous CFO.

Describe the project.:

Project Overview

The project at Fiscal Eye focuses on advancing the development of the Autonomous CFO, an AI-driven tool designed to automate and optimize accounting tasks for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The project integrates machine learning (ML) and Large Language Models (LLMs) to enhance financial management, anomaly detection, compliance monitoring, and decision-making processes. This initiative aims to empower financial professionals by leveraging AI to handle complex tasks with greater efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.

End Goal/Intended Outcome

The ultimate goal of this project is to develop a fully functional Autonomous CFO product that can:
- Convert business rules from natural language to formal expressions.
- Detect anomalies in financial records to prevent errors and fraud.
- Ensure continuous compliance with Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) regulations.
- Provide actionable insights to optimize financial operations and decision-making.

Intern's Tasks

The intern will contribute to critical areas of the project, including:
- Developing AI models for converting business rules into formal expressions that can be processed by the Autonomous CFO system.
- Creating and fine-tuning ML models for anomaly detection in financial data, such as identifying duplicate entries or transactions that exceed specified thresholds.
- Implementing AI models for monitoring and ensuring real-time compliance with CRA regulations, flagging potential issues for proactive resolution.

Research Focus

Near-Term Focus
- Convert Business Rules: Develop AI to translate business rules into formal instructions.
- Detect Anomalies: Create models to find errors and fraud in financial data.
- Ensure Compliance: Use AI for real-time tax compliance monitoring.

Long-Term Focus
- Market Analysis: Compare financial performance to industry benchmarks.
- Risk Assessment: Identify and mitigate financial risks.
- Expense Optimization: Find cost-saving opportunities in company expenses.
