About the company:

TROES Corp, a Canadian company, specializes in developing Battery Energy Storage and Microgrid Control technology for the mid-market, addressing a neglected segment. Their unique offering comprises proprietary software and modularized energy storage hardware, resulting in a comprehensive solution for project developers. The company achieves an impressive 35% reduction in project costs and a 40% decrease in development time. With successful deployments in seven countries, TROES now focuses on supporting the increasing demand for EV chargers. Boasting a substantial project pipeline exceeding $50 million, each project ensures a decade or two of recurring revenue. TROES further provides a 4-in-1 software solution encompassing simulation, monitoring, asset management, and operational functions, enabling small and medium-sized developers to independently pursue projects and eliminate intermediaries. Their efforts expedite microgrid projects, facilitating the transition towards a 21st-century energy landscape characterized by decarbonization, electrification, and resilience.

Describe the project.:

This innovation project by TROES aims to enhance technical support through design processes, internal management, and quality assurance. The main tasks to be completed include, optimize the design process to enhance customer support, strengthen the collaboration between technical support and business development teams, and implement quality assurance protocols into the design process. Methodologies or techniques we are looking to establish quality management systems such as ISO 9001, root cause analysis, and continuous feedback loops

This innovation project by TROES focuses on enhancing technical support through improvements in design processes, internal management, and quality assurance. The primary objectives are to:

1. Optimize the design process to strengthen customer support.

2. Improve collaboration between technical support and business development teams.

3. Implement quality assurance protocols directly into the design process.

General Activities by Task

Optimizing the design process: Reviewing current workflows, identifying bottlenecks, and documenting improved design-support procedures. Activities may include creating process maps, recommending tool improvements, and supporting engineers in documenting standardized practices.

Strengthening collaboration between teams: Supporting communication between technical support and business development, preparing knowledge-sharing materials, and helping track feedback from customers and partners. Activities may include organizing cross-functional meetings, maintaining shared documentation, and updating CRM data.

Implementing quality assurance protocols: Researching quality management frameworks (e.g., ISO 9001), supporting root cause analysis of technical issues, and establishing continuous feedback loops between support, design, and QA teams. Activities may include drafting checklists, building feedback forms, and tracking resolution outcomes.

The intern will play a hands-on role in supporting each of these tasks. They will assist in mapping processes, compiling data for root cause analyses, and drafting templates for continuous feedback systems. Additionally, the intern will contribute to the early development of TROES’s quality management systems (QMS), gaining exposure to industry standards such as ISO 9001 and helping translate theoretical frameworks into practical company procedures.

Required expertise/skills:

Educationally, the candidate should have a background in Electrical Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred. Project Management Experience is a bonus, technical skills including project management software tools, experience working with multinational teams and understanding of cross-cultural communication, and understanding of the clean energy sectors, especially in areas related to manufacturing and supply chain management.
