Au sujet de l’entreprise:
Calian Composites (CCL) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Calian Group and specializes in producing advanced composite products. We have designed and built satellite communication antennas from 1m to 10m, and we also produce a wide variety of other composite products, , including saltwater boat hulls, building fascia panels, custom panels for industrial vehicles, etc. CCL specializes in precision composite molding, with RMS accuracies in the 100µ range.
Veuillez décrire le projet.:
CCL intends on developing a high frequency antenna using composite technology and is submitting a proposal to the Canadian Space Agency to support this. If successful, we need to identify means of improving existing infusion resin mechanical properties and CTE in particular. The goal is to define methods and means of producing a modified epoxy or cyanate resin formulation, which, when infused into appropriate structural fibers, results in a very low aggregate CTE such that thermal distortion of the antenna is negligible.
Expertise ou compétences exigées:
Knowledge of epoxy and cyanate ester chemistry, and understanding of means to improve cross-linking, eg. organosilane coupling agents, silicon based agents, silica fillers, multi-functional catalysts, etc.
