HighPath is a software platform for businesses to identify, research, and apply for funding opportunities. Businesses that are on HighPath use it to identify investors, grants, banking products and more. HighPath is working to automate the matching and application drafting process to provide businesses with a single solution for running their funding process.
Our mission is to help 100,000 businesses across Canada and the US get funding in the next 5 years. To do this we are assembling a team of incredible software engineers, data scientists, and sales gurus to help build the next generation of funding software.

This project will focus on designing, testing, and implementing a framework for HighPath to assess the value that our core product offering has on our customers fundraising initiatives. The goal is to quantify several key metrics that impact a businsesses success and satisfaction with their businesses financing activities through using HighPath. The intern will contribute to the design, development, and customer engagement of several key parts of the platform, including:
• Identifying through customer conversations existing methods of running a fundraising process
• Connecting those methods with key performance indicators that can be quantified and tracked within the platform
• Work with our engineering and operations team to implement these KPI’s into the platform
• Track customer usage of these KPIs and be able to provide a value metric for how HighPath has impacted the overall fundraising process
• Work alongside the executive team to explore how these KPIs impact potential revenue streams and business models for new and existing products offered by HighPath
The intern will work with customers, the operations team, the engineering team, and the executive team to gather design requirements and a framework for developing these KPI’s as well as a user-friendly method to collect the data from customers.
The intern will develop key skills in four areas of the business. They will learn collaboration and communication skills by interacting both internally with team members and managers as well as customer engagement through user interviews. The intern will learn the application of financial modelling for businesses across a wide variety of industries and stages. Lastly, the intern will gain invaluable skills in how operational metrics contribute to updates in pricing and customer acquisition strategies. The intern will work closest with HighPath’s Client Operations Lead and CEO.

Required:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills for conducting customer interviews.
• Comfort engaging with customers and internal stakeholders.
2. Analytical Thinking & Problem-Solving
• Ability to break down customer workflows and identify key steps and measurable performance indicators.
• Strong critical-thinking abilities to translate qualitative input into quantitative KPIs.
3. Business & Financial Literacy
• Understanding of business models, fundraising processes, or startup operations.
• Exposure to financial concepts such as valuation, revenue modelling, or KPI development.
4. Collaboration
• Experience participating in group projects requiring coordination and shared deadlines.
5. Research & Requirements Gathering
• Skill in conducting interviews, surveys, or background research to support design and product decisions.

1. Product or UX Interest
• Interest in userexperience design, customer journey mapping, or product analytics.
2. Data & Technical Aptitude
• Basic familiarity with data analysis tools.
• Understanding of how KPIs can be implemented in software systems.
3. Exposure to Startups or Fundraising
• Previous coursework or extracurricular involvement related to entrepreneurship or venture capital.
4. Project Management
• Ability to manage multiple streams of work, coordinate input, and maintain timelines.
5. Business Strategy & Revenue Modeling Interest
• Interest in exploring how new KPIs can influence pricing models, and gotomarket strategies.
