Au sujet de l’entreprise:

Edgentica is a Canada-based AI regulatory technology company. Our product delivers citation-bound, audit-ready AI for governments and enterprises, enabling faster and more reliable regulatory analysis. We have completed cross-border deployments in Canada and Taiwan, including a live production deployment in Yunlin County. As we scale into new regulatory jurisdictions, we're building academic partnerships to deepen our understanding of international AI governance frameworks.

Veuillez décrire le projet.:

This project investigates the international regulatory environment for AI applications in financial services, including model risk management, algorithmic accountability, fair-lending and anti-discrimination considerations, and guidance from regulators and standard-setting bodies across major jurisdictions. The intern will conduct a comparative review of current and emerging compliance requirements - including Canadian guidance (e.g., OSFI), U.S. frameworks (e.g., federal banking regulator guidance, SEC/CFTC considerations), EU requirements (e.g., the EU AI Act as applied to financial services, EBA/ESMA guidance), and Taiwan's Financial Supervisory Commission guidance alongside the AI Basic Act (effective January 2026). This project includes two parallel intern positions: one focused on PII/login-gated scenarios (e.g., customer authentication, KYC, and data access controls), and one on non-PII/public-facing scenarios, with outputs combined into a unified compliance framework. The interns will engage with a prospective Taiwan-based research partner, National Chengchi University's FinTech Research Center (FTRC), building on Edgentica's production deployment in Yunlin County, and will work with Edgentica to produce practical tools and recommendations supporting compliant AI adoption for financial institutions operating across borders.

Expertise ou compétences exigées:

Background in finance, law, international/comparative law, regulatory studies, or a related discipline. Working knowledge of, or strong interest in, international financial regulatory systems (Canada, U.S., EU, Taiwan). Interest in financial regulation, model risk management, or responsible AI. Strong comparative research, analytical, and technical writing skills. Basic understanding of AI/ML concepts is an asset but not required. Preference will be given to faculty/co-supervisors with existing professional relationships with banks or financial institutions, as this project aims to validate research findings with real-world implementation partners.
